2023
Trakehners Australia Leaderboards

Trakehners excel in many disciplines.  We want to promote and reward TA member owner/rider/breeder/trainers by recognising achievement in each discipline.

The 2023 Leaderboard will be for competition results in the 2023 calendar year.

The Leaderboard has categories for Dressage, Eventing, Showjumping and a NEW category for Young Horse Competition (one category for all disciplines).

Categories may be added to,  please feel free to contact us with your suggestions.

The rules of the leaderboard for 2023 are:

  1. The leaderboard scores are accrued by an approved horse/pony and rider combination.

  2. The combination must comprise:

    1. a rider who is a TA breeder or owner-rider member (or junior member of these categories); and

    2. a horse or pony registered with the TA Inc or the TV that is owned or leased by the rider.

  3. Entry to the Leaderboard is free for eligible combinations.

  4. The Leaderboard award runs for points accrued at events in the calendar year 1 January to 31 December.

  5. Eligible disciplines are:

    1. Dressage

    2. Eventing

    3. Showjumping

    4. Young Horse Competition (Young Horse competitions for dressage, jumping and eventing are included in the one category here for young horse competitions for 4, 5, 6 and 7 year olds).

  6. Eligible events and exclusion to eligibility are:

    1. EA/FEI official Dressage, showjumping, eventing and young horse competitions;

    2. Unofficial dressage showjumping and eventing, including HRCAV or Pony Club official and unofficial Dressage, showjumping, eventing and young horse competition.

    3. To qualify as eventing, the competition must have all 3 components of dressage, jumping and cross county.

    4. For Dressage, tests with only walk-trot elements do not qualify for leaderboard points.

    5. For Dressage, score must be a minimum of 55% to gain points.

    6. Freshman jumping is not eligible for points.

    7. Young horse dressage, showjumping and eventing competitions may only accrue points as Young Horse competitions.

  7. The leaderboard points are differently weighted for Official EA/FEI compared with HRCAV or Pony Club and unofficial events (see table below)

  8. Results for competitions in January to August must be submitted by 30 September 2023.  Results for competitions from September to October must be submitted by 30 November.  Results for November and December must be submitted by 30 January 2024.

  9. Only the highest placing score achieved on one competition day is counted.  "Jackpot" or Championship results are not included.

  10. If your score is an equal placing, full points for that placing are awarded.

  11. The rider of the combination is responsible for correct recording and submissions of all information.

  12. Leaderboard entries are to be made via the TA Inc Website, using the Leaderboard results form (see below).  Each entry must include the table of your own results for which you are claiming points (see word document attached below to download, complete then upload with your entry).   In addition you may submit the results sheet/s for the events claimed that can be authenticated by the competition/show secretary (this is necessary for any unofficial events where results are not published on-line).

  13. Leaderboard entries will be considered by the Leaderboard subcommittee and entered on the Leaderboard when approved by the subcommittee.  A subcommittee member must not enter their own results or those of a horse owned or bred by them into the leaderboard.  The subcommittee reports enry and results to the TA committee at each meeting.  If the subcommittee has any doubt as to the validity of an entry, that entry will be listed at next committee meeting for decision.  TA Inc Committee make all decisions as to the eligibility of claimed points for inclusion in the Leaderboard, and that decision is final.

  14. TA Inc may publish photos of the winners and place getters in the leaderboard on the TA website and/or social media page.

  15. There will be prizes awarded for each discipline (Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing and Young Horse).  If there are less than 10 entries in any discipline, then prizes will only be awarded to 3rd place.  It is intended that the prizes awarded will be: â€‹First place = Rug, 2nd place = Saddle cloth, 3rd place = head collar.  4th, 5th and 6th place (if more than 10 entrants) = rosette.
